Anantnag, 30 September 2026: Anantnag Police, acting on reliable information regarding concealment of a huge quantity of narcotic substances, conducted searches at the residential premises of two persons at Sonch Brah.
Based on the information, FIR Nos. 108/2026 and 109/2026 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act were registered at Police Station Mattan against Mudasir Ahmad Khan S/o Mohd. Haneef Khan and Abdul Qayoom Khan S/o Saifullah Khan, both residents of Sonch Brah.
After obtaining the requisite search orders from the competent authority, Police conducted searches of their respective residential premises. During the searches, 31.2 kg of crushed bhang was recovered from the residential house of Mudasir Ahmad Khan, while 43.8 kg was recovered from the residential house of Abdul Qayoom Khan, making a total recovery of 75 kg of crushed bhang.
Both accused persons were arrested and the recovered contraband was seized in accordance with the law.
Further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and other linkages involved in the case.
