The Shah Payaan UT-Level Taekwondo Championship 2026 organised under the able leadership of Ahtisham Zahoor, President, District Taekwondo Association Shopian
, concluded today in Shopian with great enthusiasm, participation and sporting spirit.
The championship brought together 350+ players from 17 districts across Jammu & Kashmir providing a significant platform for young Taekwondo athletes to compete, gain valuable experience and showcase their talent.
Riyaz Ahmad Choudhry, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Shopian, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest and appreciated the efforts of the organisers, coaches, officials and participating athletes.

The event was organised by the Taekwondo Association of District Shopian (TADS), under the aegif of J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA) and J&K Sports Council (JKSC). Hashim Majeed (National Referee) was the referee Chairman along with Zain Nazir (National Referee) as Vice Referee Chairman. They overlooked the whole Referee panel according to the norma of J&K Taekwondo Association.
Danish Manzoor, International Taekwondo Athlete and Fit India Ambassador served as the Observer for the championship, appointed by the J&K Taekwondo Association. His presence added further significance to the event and reflected the association’s commitment to ensuring the smooth and professional conduct of the championship.
The dignitaries appreciated the dedicated efforts of the organising committee, officials, coaches, volunteers and athletes in making the championship a successful and memorable sporting event.
President, J&K Taekwondo Association, Shri Rajesh Pangotra, and Secretary, Shri Ramesh Chander Sharma lauded the efforts of the organising committee in conducting the prestigious championship and extended their appreciation and best wishes to all the participating athletes.
