Srinagar, Oct 5 (JKNS): A 32-year-old man was injured after being attacked by a bear while working in his paddy field in the Dara area of Harwan on the outskirts of Srinagar, officials said on Monday.

An official told news agency JKNS that the man was attacked by a bear while working in his paddy field at Dara Daird Khore in Harwan.

He said the injured man was shifted to a hospital soon after the incident, where his condition was stated to be stable.

The injured has been identified as Liyaqat, son of Mohammad Yaqoob Kuli, a resident of Dara, Harwan.

Meanwhile, the incident has been taken into notice, while locals have urged the authorities to take necessary measures to prevent further bear attacks in the area. (JKNS)
