KARNAH, KUPWARA, October 10, 2026(JKNS): In a heartwarming gesture reflecting the spirit of brotherhood, compassion and commitment, officers and personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) today attended the wedding celebrations of Aadil Husain, son of Late Mohammad Mashkoor Ahmad, a resident of Tangdhar, Karnah. The BSF officers and personnel stood beside the family on this special occasion, presented wedding gifts and conveyed their heartfelt wishes and blessings to the newly married couple.
Their presence added an emotional touch to the celebrations, reminding the family that the memory, service and legacy of their loved one continue to be cherished by his fellow soldiers. The gesture reaffirmed that the bond between a soldier and his force does not end with his passing but continues through the care and support extended to his family.
BSF Officers Stand With the Family of Late Mohammad Mashkoor Ahmad
Late Mohammad Mashkoor Ahmad, a resident of Tangdhar, Karnah, served as a Constable in the 170 Battalion of the Border Security Force at Shillong. He passed away on August 8, 2023, leaving behind his family and a legacy of dedication and service to the nation.
As his son, Aadil Husain, begins a new chapter of life through marriage, the absence of his father is deeply felt. A father’s presence, guidance and blessings on such an important occasion are irreplaceable. However, the presence of BSF officers and personnel at the wedding offered the family a touching reminder that they have not been forgotten.
By attending the celebrations, presenting wedding gifts and extending their warm wishes, the BSF personnel demonstrated their continued affection and solidarity with the family of their departed colleague. Their gesture reflected the values of brotherhood, compassion and mutual support that remain an integral part of the force.
A Similar Heartwarming Gesture Witnessed in Gabra Last Week
A similar expression of brotherhood and solidarity was witnessed last week in Gabra village of Karnah, where personnel of the 31 BSF visited the family of Late Rafiq Ahmad on the occasion of his daughter Mahida’s wedding.
Rafiq Ahmad, a resident of Gabra, served in the Border Security Force and passed away due to a heart attack in Shillong in 2007. Nearly two decades after his passing, his daughter’s wedding became an occasion for his BSF family to reaffirm its enduring bond with the family he had left behind.
On that occasion, senior officers and BSF personnel met the family, presented wedding gifts and extended assistance with the wedding arrangements. Their presence brought comfort to the family and demonstrated that the service and memory of their departed colleague continue to hold a special place within the organisation.
Rafiq Ahmad’s legacy also continues through his children, with his son Aadil and daughter Mahida serving in the Border Security Force and carrying forward their father’s association with the organisation and his commitment to the nation.
The recent wedding in Tangdhar and the similar gesture witnessed in Gabra last week highlight the BSF’s continued commitment to remembering its departed personnel and standing beside their families during important milestones in their lives.
A Bond That Goes Beyond the Uniform
The two occasions in Tangdhar and Gabra reflect the human side of the security forces and the strong bonds that connect personnel with the families of their colleagues. For families who have lost their loved ones, such gestures offer reassurance that their sacrifices, service and contributions to the nation remain remembered and respected.
In border areas like Karnah, where relationships are built on trust, sacrifice and mutual support, these acts of kindness carry special significance. They also strengthen the bond between security forces and local communities, reinforcing the values of unity, compassion and mutual respect.
A soldier’s uniform represents not only duty, discipline and courage but also a sense of belonging that can endure beyond a lifetime. While no gesture can replace a father’s presence on his child’s wedding day, the support of fellow soldiers can provide comfort and remind the family that it is not alone.
The BSF’s gestures towards the families of Late Mohammad Mashkoor Ahmad and Late Rafiq Ahmad convey a powerful message: a soldier may leave this world, but the bond he shares with his force and the care for his family continue.
As Aadil Husain and Mahida begin new chapters of their married lives, their fathers’ memories continue to live on through their families, fellow soldiers and the wider community.
May Allah bless Aadil Husain and Mahida with happiness, love, peace and prosperity in their married lives. May Allah grant the departed souls the highest place in Jannah and give their families strength, comfort and patience. Ameen.
The soldiers may be gone, but their legacy lives on. A salute to the brave sons of Karnah who served the nation with honour and whose memories continue to inspire brotherhood beyond the uniform.(JKNS)
