Srinagar, Oct 13 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday criticised the BJP over what he described as an attempt to interfere in the religious affairs of Muslims, saying such actions would not be accepted under any circumstances.
The statement comes after The J&K Waqf Board has pushed for uniform Friday sermons at all mosques in the Union Territory (UT) and will become the first region in the country to adopt this mechanism to ensure the topics to be highlighted at religious places are pre-decided and approved by a committee of preachers.
In a post on X, CM Omar as per news agency JKNS said, “This is an unacceptable attempt by the BJP to interfere in the religious affairs of Muslims and will not be accepted under any circumstances. The BJP appointed Chairperson must immediately halt this misplaced attempt to please her masters.” (JKNS)
