SHARIFABAD, October 24(JKNS): In a significant humanitarian initiative aimed at improving the lives of persons with disabilities, Chinar Corps, in collaboration with Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), popularly known as Jaipur Foot, organised an Artificial Limb Fitment Camp at Sharifabad on October 23 and 24.

The two day camp focused on empowering differently abled persons by providing free, customised artificial limbs and essential mobility aids to improve their mobility, independence and quality of life.

A specialised team of prosthetic technicians and medical experts from BMVSS assessed the individual requirements of beneficiaries and provided artificial limbs tailored to their specific needs. During the camp, 190 beneficiaries were fitted with artificial limbs, while 113 persons received mobility aids, including wheelchairs, crutches and callipers.

The initiative received appreciation from local residents and beneficiaries, who expressed gratitude to the Indian Army and BMVSS for extending support to persons with disabilities and helping them lead more independent and dignified lives.

The collaborative effort reaffirmed Chinar Corps’ commitment to humanitarian assistance, inclusive development and community welfare in the Kashmir Valley. It also highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Armed Forces and civil society organisations in supporting vulnerable sections of society and contributing to nation building.(JKNS)
