Leh, Oct 30 (JKNS): The founders of Changra Ladakh and Norling Looms and Arts today called on Chief Secretary, UT Ladakh, Ashish Kundra, at the UT Secretariat in Leh and expressed their gratitude to the UT Administration for facilitating their participation in Lakmé Fashion Week, New Delhi.

The event provided them with a platform to showcase Ladakh’s rich pashmina heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary designs before a wider national and international audience.

During the interaction, representatives of the two brands shared the outcomes of their participation, highlighting that they established connections with around 30 exporters, designers and professionals engaged in pashmina sourcing. They also recorded sales of approximately ₹1.40 lakh during the event.

They further highlighted their interactions with Mr Fabrizio Ceccarelli, representative of the Embassy of Italy, and the Co-founder and CEO of Paris Fashion Air, which have opened up potential avenues for future collaborations and participation in international events.

The representatives also informed that a renowned luxury store in Chennai had expressed interest in jointly showcasing their collections, opening up potential opportunities to expand their retail presence beyond Ladakh.

The entrepreneurs appreciated the support extended by the UT Administration and the Department of Industries & Commerce, Ladakh, in providing platforms for local brands, designers and artisans to connect with larger national and international markets. (JKNS)
