Kupwara: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Jammu and Kashmir Police, District Kupwara, through Police Station Karnah, organised the live streaming of the Ekta Diwas Parade from Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, at Simari village in Karnah, recognised as the First Village of India, on October 31.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 500 people, including children and residents from Simari and adjoining villages. People gathered in large numbers to watch the live telecast of the parade and celebrate the spirit of national unity, integrity and brotherhood.
The initiative provided residents of the remote border villages of Karnah an opportunity to witness the national-level celebrations and participate virtually in the historic occasion.
The programme reflected the commitment of Jammu and Kashmir Police towards promoting national integration, community participation and a sense of unity among people living in border areas.
The event was organised by District Police Kupwara through Police Station Karnah.
