Div Com Jammu reviews progress of land acquisition newly sanctioned GDCs, KVs ‘Sites identified in all districts, land transfer process on; Most of sanctioned colleges, KVs functional’

JAMMU, JANUARY 06: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed the land acquisition for the  newly sanctioned Degree colleges and Kendriya Vidyalas in the districts of Jammu division and other related issues here at a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners.

The meeting was attended by Director Colleges, Dr M Y Peerzada; DC Kendriya Vidyalas, Dr D Manjunath; ADC Kathua, Atul Gupta; ADDC Jammu, Romesh Chander; besides Principals of GDCs, Nagrota, Sidhra, Marh, Bhagwati Nagar, and other concerned officers, while Deputy Commissioners of districts along with concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.

Threadbare discussions were held on each land acquisition case and the concerned Deputy Commissioners apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the present status.

It was informed that land has been identified in all the districts for establishment of new colleges and Kendriya Vidyalas and the process of transfer of land is in progress. It was further informed that the sanctioned colleges and KVs are functional at most of the  places in alternative buildings, while the construction work has been started where the land has been acquired.

The Div Com directed the DCs to expedite the process of land acquisition and handover the same to the concerned department for construction of Campuses at the earliest. He also asked them to follow all the cases and resolve bottlenecks, if any for smooth execution of work on the Campuses. He also directed the DCs to identify alternative land where there are disputes.
