KUPWARA, JANUARY 08: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a joint meeting of senior officers and District Development council (DDC) members and BDC chairpersons of the district, here.
The objective of the meeting was to familiarize public representatives about the guidelines and benefits of Forest Rights Act (FRA).
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for holding massive awareness about the Act.
The DDC members and BDC Chairpersons were given thorough awareness about various modalities of the Act.
ADC Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone, ACR Kupwara, DPO, DFO Kamraj and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
Earlier, a Revenue officers meeting was held under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Bashir Ahmad Bhat during which officers were sensitized about the Forest Rights Act. The participants were apprised about technicalities under the Act.
Similar training session was chaired also by SDM Karnah Dr. Bilal Mohi-u-din Bhat, at Tanghar, during which master trainers were sensitized about the Act.
