SRINAGAR : Srinagar Police in its offensive against drug peddlers, established a naka at New Bypass near Peaks Automobiles after receiving a specific information. During naka checking one vehicle bearing redg. No. JK05D-1382 was stopped and during search of the vehicle 16 gms of Brown Sugar like substance wrapped in Polythene was recovered. The vehicle were seized on spot and Two accused persons arrested on spot namely:
1. Latief Ahmad Mir
S/o Mohd Qasim Mir
R/o Patwah Budgam.
2. Firdous Ahmad Teli
S/o Gh Qadir Teli
R/o Jahama Budgam.
In this regard a Case FIR No. 01/2021 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Nowgam and investigation has been taken up to nab more culprits.
Locals of the area have hailed the Police action & are expecting that this type of action against drug menace shall continue in future also.
