Srinagar, April 22: Twenty seven new Covid-19 positive cases were reported in Kashmir on Wednesday taking the total number of people infected with the coronavirus disease in Jammu and Kashmir to 407.Government spokesperson Rohit Kansal said 27 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus – all from Kashmir division – were reported today, taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 407.“27 new cases reported today. All from Kashmir Division. Total now 407. Jammu-56 and Kashmir-351,”, Rohit Kansal said on Twitter.Earlier on Tuesday, a doctor from Baramulla district was among those who tested positive for the novel Coronavirus disease.Earlier in the day, twenty-five people had tested positive for COVID-19. at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Science, including fourteen patients from Shopian, six from Bandipora, four from Kupwara, and one from Baramulla.While Jammu had recorded its first positive case on March 9, Kashmir’s first Covid-19 positive case was reported on March 18.So far, 71 patients -58 in Kashmir and 13 in Jammu– have recovered from the disease while five people have died.Of the total 407 cases, with 351 in Kashmir and 56 in Jammu.The government has said that over 61000 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been put under surveillance.
