January 24: Ahead of the Republic day celebrations, Police and security forces besides students from various schools and colleges had a full dress rehearsal of Republic Day parade today in all the districts of Kashmir valley.
Various contingents of Police, J&K Armed Police, CAPFs, Home-Guards, Fire & Emergency Services and Forest Protection Forces participated in full dress rehearsal for the Republic Day parade.
In Srinagar, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shri Pandurang K. Pole-IAS presided over the parade at Sher-e-Kashmir cricket Stadium Sonwar. On the occasion IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar-IPS, SSP Srinagar Shri Haseeb Mughal-JKPS and other senior officers from Police and security forces were present.
In Budgam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam Shri Dr Nasir Ahmed Lone-KAS presided over Republic Day rehearsal parade at Sports Stadium Budgam. On the occasion, ASP Budgam, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shri Rayez Ahmed, CMO Budgam Shri Dr. Tajamul Hussain and various dignitaries from civil administration and CAPF were present.
In Ganderbal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shri Farooq Ahmad Baba presided over Republic Day rehearsal parade at Qamariya Ground Ganderbal. DySP Hqrs Dr Majid JKPS and other senior officers of civil administration, police department were present on the occasion.
In Baramulla, Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla Shri Aijaz Ahmad presided over Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Baramulla. On the occasion SSP Baramulla Shri Abdul Qayoom, and various dignitaries from civil administration and CAPF were also present.
In Kupwara, ADC Kupwara Nazir Ahmad Lone presided over Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Kupwara. On the occasion ASP Kupwara Shri Ifroz Ahmad-JKPS, and other senior officers of civil administration, police department and security forces were present.
In Bandipora, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shri Zahoor Ahmad presided over Republic Day rehearsal parade at S.K Stadium Bandipora. DySP Hqrs Bandipora, DySP DAR Bandipora and other senior officers of civil administration, police department were present on the occasion.
In Sopore, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore Shri Parvaiz Sajad presided over Republic Day rehearsal parade at Khushal Sports Stadium Sopore. SSP Sopore Shri Javaid Iqbal-JKPS, and other senior officers from civil administration, police department and security forces were also present on the occasion.
In Kulgam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shri Reyaz Ahmad Sofi presided over Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Kulgam. ASP Kulgam Shri Mohd Yousuf-JKPS and other senior officers of civil administration, police department were present on the occasion.
In Shopian, Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian Shri Sheikh Abdul Aziz-KAS presided over Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Shopian. On the occasion ASP Shopian Shri Arif Amin Shah- JKPS and other senior officers of Police and civil administration were present.
In Pulwama, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Shri Shabir Ahmad Raina-KAS presided over Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Pulwama. ASP Pulwama Shri Shri Tanveer Ahmad and other senior officers of civil administration, police department were present on the occasion.
In Awantipora, Tehsildar Awantipora Shri Mohammad Maqbool presided over Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Awantipora. On the occasion ADC Awantipora Shri Zaffar Husson Shawl-KAS, SP Awantipora Shri Tahir Saleem- JKPS, and other senior officers of civil administration and Police were present.
Moreover Republic Day rehearsal parades were also held in other districts of Kashmir including district Anantnag and PD Handwara.
The contingents of police and other forces marched past the national flag in all district headquarters.
Various colourful cultural programmes were also presented by the students of various schools and colleges.
