SRINAGAR, JANUARY 25: The Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) today issued a rebuttal in reference to a news item published in ‘Early Times’ newspaper on January 25, 2021 regarding pilferage in PDS Kerosene Oil.

As per the statement issued by Director, FCS&CA, the department has vehemently rejected the allegations and termed it as baseless and unfounded.

The Director has made it clear through an official statement that the allocation of PDS Kerosene Oil by FCS&CA Department is being strictly made as per the provisions of SRO-285 dated 02-06-2019.

It has been given out that there are 870434 AAY & PHH and 529167 NPHH ration cards presently active in all the districts of Kashmir division. As per the guidelines contained in the aforesaid SRO the K-Oil is being issued strictly to AAY/ PHH category and in compliance of Section (6) Sub section (2) of above SRO and also in compliance of multiple directions from the Courts.

The savings, wherever they occur, are distributed among the NPHH rationees and the Administrative Department allocates monthly K-Oil quota for summer and winters separately to all the 10 districts depending on their population.

It was further mentioned in the statement that presently the Administrative Department has allocated a total of 3444 KLs for the month of February 2021 to all the districts which accordingly has been released to dealers/ cooperatives for further distribution.
