Portion of road caves in Srinagar’s Dalgate

Srinagar, Feb 24: A portion of a road in Dalgate area on the bank of Dal Lake caved in on Wednesday, affecting traffic in the area.

The portion of the road caved in about a few feet deep following which the stretch was closed for traffic.

Sources told that during the incident, a couple of two wheelers were parked there. As the road caved in, the two wheelers also fell into the lake. They added that a bike and a Scooty were retrieved from the lake while no loss of life has been reported.

An official said that traffic has been diverted to other connecting roads. (Details Awaited)
