Kulgam Police solves robbery case, 02 accused arrested

February 24: Police in Kulgam have solved a robbery case by arresting two accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen cash from their possession.

On 12/02/2021, Police Post Frisal received a complaint from one person namely Ghulam Mohd Dar resident of Chermarag Zainapora that he withdrew a cash amount of ₹25000 from Punjab National Bank Frisal and at around 1630hrs while returning to home two unidentified persons with covered faces threw chilli powder at him and looted an amount of ₹35700 from him.

Accordingly, case FIR No. 08/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was set into motion.

During the course of investigation, a special investigation team was constituted under the supervision of DySP PC Hatipora and SHO PS Yaripora headed by I/C PP Frisal. After strenuous efforts, the investigation team was able to identify both the accused persons involved in the commission of crime. They have been identified as Suhail Salam Dhobi son of Abdul Salam Dhobi and Nasir Ahmad Dar @Nazir Canal son of Mohd Akram Dar, both residents of Frisal Kulgam. The looted cash amounting to ₹35700/- has also been recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Community members have applauded the efforts made by the Kulgam Police in solving the case. We assure community members that police have resolved to act tough against individuals involved in criminal activities.
