May 02: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Awantipora arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established near Galander crossing in the jurisdiction of Police Station Pampore intercepted two persons riding on a Scooty bearing registration number JK04E-9127. They have been identified as Muzamil Ahmad and Nisar Ahmad both residents of Machwa Chadoora. Officers during checking were able to recover 01Kg of charas from their possession.
Case FIR No. 31/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pampore and investigation into the matter has been initiated. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Pampore where they remain in custody. The Scooty used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
