Historic Literary and Cultural Conference organised by HEM Society in Rajouri

Aftter a long spell of hybernation owing to covid restrictions Jammu & Kashmir witnessed its first ever historic literary conference at Rajouri which was organised by Dabistan-e-Himala a literary wing of Himalayan Education Mission Society at Himalayan College Rajouri. This mega event attracted galaxy of dignitaries including poets, writers, artists, academicians, socio-educational activists , officers from civil and police adminstration, teachers and students from across the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

This day long conference had two sessions in which first one was dedicated in memory of literary and socio-educational legends of International National and regional fame who left for heavenly abode recently followed by a composite Mushaira.

The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Mohammad Muslim Wani while Honorary Secretary of Dabistan e Himalla Dr Mohammad Saleem Wani readout the special condolence report of these heroes and proud sons of the country including Shamas-ur-Rehman Farouqi, Prof Hamidi Kashmiri, Prof Zahur ud Din, Arsh Sehbai, Master Abdul Aziz Wani, Vidya Rattan Aasi, Shahbaz Rajourvi, Fida Rajouri, Abdul Shakoor Malik and Dr Farooq Mughal.
These heroes were also posthumously awarded Life Time Achievement Award, Fakhre Himala Award and Master Abul Aziz Wani memorial Fakhr e Peerpanchal Award which were received by the members of their family.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Sher Singh was the chief guest while former HoD Urdu Kashmir University Prof Qadous Javed , Khalid Hussain(Rtd. DC) renowned Punjabi fiction writer and Ahmed Shanas(Rtd. DC) eminent poet and M. B. Bhat Rtd. DC jointly presided over the function whereas Prof Shakeel Ahmed Raina, Prof Javed Qazi, Prof Shabeer Ahmed Shah, Farooq Qesar SP were the guest of honour.

Other special guests who attended the event included Nisar Rahi, Azam Shah , Ajaz Qesar KAS, Bilal Mir DSEO Mushtaq Raina, Dr M K Waqar, Khurshid Janam, Prof M B Magray, Prof Asadullah Khan, Prof Zamir Mirza, Dr Anees, Abdul Salam Bahar, Rashid Qamar, Alamdar Adam and around more than four hundred people from various walks of life from Rajouri and Poonch Distt. participated in the event.

On the occasion, a book on the life and contribution of Master Abdul Aziz Wani entitled “Har Dil Aziz” authored by Dr Zakir Malik Bhallesi and
a documentary film on the life and contribution of Master Abdul Aziz Wani directed by renowned journalist Tariq Ali Mir was released on the occasion. A souvenir of Dabistan -e- Himala and books of Shahbaz Rajourvi were also released in the programme.
A youtube channel of Dabistan e Himala was also officially aired by the dignitaries.

The chief guest in his address highly appreciated the efforts of Himalayan Education Mission Society, particularly it’s patron Farooq Muztar for organising such a historic programme. He said that HEM is a movement in the Pir Panjal and it has created quality human resource which has been serving the country as well as UT of J& K in variegated forms.

The speakers expressed their gratitude to Dabistan e Himala for organising first of it’s kind literary event in Pir Panjal area and duly recognised the selfless contribution of the said
stalwarts.

Vote of thanks was presented by Farooq Muztar patron Himalayan Education Mission who thanked every participant for making the event a grand success. He also announced that such type of literary events will be continued in future also.
