Valley faces heavy downpour, roads inundated No improvement in weather conditions for next 24hrs

Srinagar, Mar 23 Moderate to heavy rain continued in Kashmir Valley for the 3rd consecutive day, even as the weather conditions are likely to remain the same for another 24hrs.

As per an independent weather forecaster, Kashmir Weather, moderate to heavy rain across plains of Kashmir is likely to continue for another 24hrs while higher reaches may receive moderate to heavy snowfall during the same period.

Some improvement in weather conditions is expected from late evening/night while light rainfall at many places may occur on 24 March as well, an official from MET told news agency.

Srinagar recorded rainfall equivalent to 30.0mm during the last 24hrs ending at 0830hrs.

Due to non-stop rains, roads in Srinagar were inundated, creating problems for people. The same conditions were also reported from different parts of the Valley.

Minimum temperature in Srinagar settled at 4.6°C, which is 0.4 degrees below the average for this time of the year.

Kupwara recorded a minimum temperature of 2.0°C while rains equivalent to 44.2mm.

Pahalgam recorded a low temperature of 3.2°C while 22.0mm rains till 8:30a.m.

Qazigund, Gulmarg and Kokernag recorded minimum temperatures of 4.6°C, -0.9°C and 3.6°C and rainfall equivalent to 45.8mm, 14.6mm, 31.4 mm respectively.
