April 03: Police in Budgam today felicitated meritorious sports persons of district Budgam who have excelled in various sports categories. The event was organised at District Police Headquarters Budgam.
The event was attended by SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Budgam, DySP DAR DPL Budgam and other senior police officers of the District.
SSP Budgam while interacting with the sports persons congratulated the achievers for making the feat and hoped that they would inspire other youth also in engaging them in sports activities. He also said that the sports play an important role in the overall personality development of an individual and is important for channelisation of youth energy to keep them away from negative forces.
While appreciating their role, SSP Budgam presented momentos & appreciation letters among participants. He also emphasised on youth to take advantage of sports events organised by Budgam Police on a regular basis. The sports achievers who were felicitated during the event include Parvaiz Ahmad Gojree (Cycling), Adil Teli (Cycling), Mohmiss Insmail Wani (Cycling), Suhail Ahmad Dar (Cycling), Mohammad Akbar Khan (Cycling), Anisa Muzaffar (Karate), Burhan Ali (Karate), Mohammad Furqan (SQAY martial art), Yameen Hyder (SQAY martial art and Skiing), Uswa Jan (Taekwondo).
The parents of some of the awardees were also present on the occasion.
