As part of Nation wide celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrut
Mahotsav, NCC cdts of NCC Group HQs, Srinagar Located at Srinagar and Leh
participated in a plog run picking up plastic thrown around and spreading the message
of saying " No to the use of Single Use Plastics".
Around 200 NCC cadets from Srinagar and 100 cadets both Boys and Girls from
various Colleges of Srinagar and Leh participated in the event. The cadets started plog
run from four different corners of Srinagar and culminated at Haft Chinar. Similarly,
cadets in Leh approached Statue of Col Chewang Rinchen MVC* SM plogging from
three corners of Leh. The event at both the locations culminated with cadets singing
patriotic songs, remembering Jallianwala Bagh Massacre by talks on the incidence and
performing Nukkad Nataks on Jallianwala Bagh massacre and finally singing the NCC
song. The events were conducted to pay homage to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh
and to say NO to plastic.
