Drugmulla Volleyball Championship was conducted by Indian Army at Drugmulla Military Garrison from 03 Apr 21 to 13 Apr 21. A total of 10 teams from panchayats of Drugmulla Block, Kupwara participated with uncanny passion and zest for the game . The aim of the championship was to inculcate sportsmanship spirit among the youth of Drugmulla Block and foster the connect between Awam and Army.
The first round of championship was played on knock out basis after which five teams played against each other and top four teams qualified for the semi-finals. The first semi-final was played between the teams of Drugmulla A and Drugmulla B, in which Drugmulla B emerged victorious. Andherama B won the second semi-final against Drugmulla C and advanced to finals.
The 11 day tournament ended with final match played on 13 Apr 21, between Drugmulla B and Andherama B in which Drugmulla B won by 3-1. The winners and runners up were awarded with cash prize, trophy and individual medals.
All matches were witnessed by large number of locals who were found cheering and motivating their respective teams. The tournament rounded off with prize distribution. The villagers of Drugmulla block expressed their gratitude to Indian Army for promoting sports in Kupwara district.
