Shopkeepers put question marks on the shutter down decree Government decision could bury the economy of Kashmir

Srinagar,April,21: Kashmir Trade Alliance has questioned the  Administration on whether the closure of shops and businesses can curb the spread of Corona virus. Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA)President  Ajaz Shahdhar said that if indeed the shutter down, The spread of the corona virus could have been prevented, so today there are not an average of 2,000 corona cases a day in the valley.

He said that last year traders suffered  thousands of crorers of losses a result of the lockdown, and the government or the administration did not come forward to help the small shopkeepers.

” Traders are facing a similar situation, which has resulted loss of economy and business here”, Shahdhar Said.

He said that Kashmir Trade Alliance had already held several meetings with the  Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, and informed them of their concerns that traders could not afford another lockdown

Shahdhar said, “The administration should now come up with a new plan. He made it clear that  Covid could not be controlled by shutter down,And the regulations issued by the health department and experts must be followed”.

Shahdhar advised the government to withdraw the shutter down order and ensure compliance with the regulations to control the Covid virus at the ground level, Machinery and staff must be mobilized.

President of Kashmir Trade Alliance also advised the Lieutenant Governor’s administration to strengthen the health sector so that the people affected by this global epidemic could be treated in the best possible way. Shahdhar demanded Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to Review trade  restrictions advisory and issue immediate restoration orders.
