Prominent Congress leader and the Youth State Secretary INC, Syed Mohammad Sibtain Shah has urged UT government to act swiftly to tackle the current grim situation due to second wave of COVID-19.

Shah said that government must act and impose the restrictions in letter and spirit as the curbs are the key steps to contain the spread of deadly virus and to break the chain.

Shah said LG administration should focus on counter Covid measures and must utilise its money besides men and machinery to boost the health system. He said the way health system of the metro cities is falling apart and people are starving for oxygen and hospital beds is an alarm that UT of J&K must prepare for.

Shah said the rapid daily record increase in infections and mortalities has pushed the country to the wall but its unfortunate to see that the head of the country is still busy in election campaigning.

Shah urged people to follow SOPs in letter and spirit. He said avoiding unnecessary outing, use of face masks, maintaining social distancing and taking vaccine jab is very very important and these are the only remedies to break the chain and ensure the safety of self and families.

Shah prayed to Almighty to end this global pandemic out of the majesty and bless the world with a survival. He said the 2nd wave with multiple mutant strain is deadly and no one can escape if not following the health advisories.
