Cultural Wing of Information Department organises colourful cultural programme at Anantnag Artists enthrall audience with items on Patriotism, Covid-19 Awareness

ANANTNAG, APRIL 24: As part of ongoing, ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ (75 years of Independence) celebrations, the Department of Information and Public Relations today organised a cultural programme at Town Hall Anantnag.

The programme was presided over by President Municipal Council Anantnag Er. Hilal Ahmad Shah as Chief Guest and was held with strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs.

During the programme, a series of diverse and colorful cultural items featuring songs on Patriotism and Covid-19 awareness were presented by the artists of the cultural unit of the department.

The song written and presented by Athar Balpuri was a masterpiece sending a strong message for the masses to follow SOPs and take preventive measures for safety against the virus.

Besides, the event witnessed a delightful solo musical performance on Santoor by Ustad Mushtaq Ahmad Saznawaz and a vibrant Mushaira featuring key patriotic values.

The other artists who performed on the occasion include G M Dar Anzwali and G M Khanday. The audience lauded the choice, collection and presentation of the items by artists on the occasion.

District Treasury Officer, Dr. Sajad Wani, Accounts Officer, MCA, Muzaffar Ahmad, Cultural Officer Srinagar, Riyaz Ahmad Fazli, AECO, Shakeel Ahmad Andrabi, President AWJA, S. Tariq, officials of District Information Centre Anantnag besides others were present on the occasion.
