It needs no clarification that all appointments/ engagements are made under due process and after fullfillment of required  formalities. In the particular case no deviation has been made from the standard rules. It requires no mention that how so often such reports have proved either a canard or part of a deliberate campaign to undermine the working of this prestigious Institution.
It is highly regrettable that some some such sections in media indulge in irresponsible reportage without ascertaining the facts  to mislead general masses.
SKIMS further clarifies that in the ongoing emergencies and crisis Residents are recruited as per the need and engaging residents or need based staff doesn’t require processes like interview. They are engaged purely on  temporary basis.
As per the recommendations of the Advisory Committee the Tenure Based Engagement of Resident Doctors is done on “Walk-In Applications  Basis “ purely to tackle the crisis on account of Corona Pandemic and Non -COVID Patient Care after due process of Document Verification.
It is unethical for any responsible media institutions to allow themselves to get into trivial issues and  report factually incorrect stories  and adversely affect the morale of the front line warriors who are doing their job entailing the risk of their lives.
In this time of crisis when the whole country and UT of J&K is going through tough times where human lives are at stake and healthcare workers are fighting this pandemic on front line and all health institutions including SKIMS are on forefront fighting this deadly disease and providing all possible services to the people of J&k, media should desist from this yellow journalism and should come appreciate and support as part of a contribution to help metigate the intensity of the unprecedented pandemic situation.
