DC Kulgam reviews availability of essentials in view of Eid-ul-Fitr

KULGAM, MAY 19: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today chaired a meeting of officers, to review the availability of essentials in the district in view of Jummat-ul-vida, Shab-i-Qadr and Eid-ul-fitr.The meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, SDM Noorabad, ACR, DSP-Hq, CAO, CHO, AEE- PDD, PHE, DO-Food Safety & Standards, All Tehsildars, AD, FCS&CA, EO, and other officers besides the members of Auqaaf Committee and Trade Association.The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of availability of essential commodities and it was given out that there are adequate essential commodities available in the district.Chief Animal Husbandry officers informed that there is an adequate availability of poultry birds and was directed to start distribution of poultry birds by establishing sale outlets at District Veterinary Complex Kulgam, SDM Office D.H.Pora, Veterinary Hospital Devsar and other sale outlets.Fisheries department was also directed by Deputy Commissioner to ensure availability of fishes at identified sale outlets by following social distancing norms. The heads of PHE and PDD departments were directed by Deputy Commissioner to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply in the district during the festive occasions.Administrators of Red zones were asked to ensure home delivery of all essential commodities in their respective areas for facilitation of red zone area populace.He also directed the concerned to intensify market checking and ensure no hoarding /profiteering is being done in the district. EO’s of municipal committees were directed to carry sanitation drives in their respective areas and repair all defunct street lights.The DC urged the general public to adhere to social distancing norms, use masks, avoid religious congregation on Jummat-ul-vida, Shab-i-Qadr and Eid-ul-fitr.
