“In the interest of Security of State” Tainted police officer Davinder Singh, two Kupwara teachers terminated

Srinagar, May 20: Government of Jammu and Kashmir has terminated the service of tainted under suspension police officer Davinder Singh.

   Deputy Superintendent of Police Davinder Singh was arrested while accompanying two Hizbul Mujahideen militants in a vehicle bound for Delhi in January last year.

  Government had placed him under suspension shortly after his arrest.

   Government today issued a formal order about his termination.

    The order as per news agency KNT reads that Lieutenant Governor is satisfied after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of information available that the activities of Davinder Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Under Suspension) son of Deedar Singh of Overigund Tral, Pulwamaare such as to warrant his dismissal from service.

   “The Lieutenant Governor is satisfied under sub-clause (c) of the provisional to clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India that in the interest of the security of the State, it is not expedient to hold an inquiry  in the case of Davinder Singh. Accordingly, the Lieutenant Governor hereby dismisses Davinder Singh from service, with immediate effect.

   Government has also terminated the services of two teachers in the ‘interest of security of the State’.

   These teachers are Bashir Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, a resident of Village Dildar  Batpora, Tehsil Karnah, District Kupwara and Mohammad Yousuf Ganie son of Ghulam Qadir Ganie, resident of Village Trich, District Kupwara. Both these teachers were serving in Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNT)
