Police busts gang of burglars in Sopore; Accused persons arrested Stolen property worth lacs of rupees recovered

May 22: Sopore Police have solved a burglary case and arrested four accused persons involved in the commission of crime, stolen property worth lacs of rupees were also recovered.

On 07 February 2021, Police Station Dangiwacha received a written complaint from Nazir Ahmad Shiekh son of Ghulam Muhammad Shiekh resident of Behrampora Rafiabad wherein he stating that on 06 February 2021 some unknown burglars barged into his residential house and stolen golden ornaments worth lacs of rupees.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.18/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation was set into motion.

During the course of investigation, many suspected persons were questioned and by taking advantage of modern techniques, four suspected persons identified as Basharat Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir resident of  Behrampora Rafiabad,  Faizan Ahmad Dar son of Nazir Ahmad Dar resident of Drusoo Rafiabad,  Safeer Ahmad Baba son of Ghulam Ahmad Baba resident of Marazigund Rafiabad and Irshad Ahmad Pandith son of Abdul Rashid Pandith resident of Braripora Handwara were found involved  in the commission of crime. Subsequently, all the four accused persons have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

On their disclosure, the investigating team were able to recover golden ornaments worth lacs of rupees, 02 inverters and 02 batteries. Further investigation of the case is in progress and more recoveries are expected.

Sopore Police assures the general public that every possible step will be taken to safeguard the life, property, and honour of its community members.

General public have applauded the systematic efforts put forth by Sopore Police and warns of strict action against those individuals found involved in any kind of criminal activity.
