Secretary Forest reviews facilities at Udhampur quarantine centres

UDHAMPUR, MAY 21:- Commissioner Secretary Forest, Ecology and Environment, Sarita  Chauhan today reviewed facilities being provided to the people put under Administrative quarantine in the district, here at meeting.

At the outset, DDC, Dr. Piyush Singla gave detailed PowerPoint presentation on the arrangements made available for the quarantined persons, including classification and segregation of inmates under high risk and low risk category.

 He gave details about procurement of material for quarantine centres, Administrative quarantine capacity, Administrative quarantine manpower management, deployment of Executive magistrates etc.    The DDC informed  that inmates are provided mattresses, bed  sheets  and soap as per  the guidelines, while health department  has engaged  voluntary  workers  for change  and transport  of  bed linen  and its  cleaning  in the district hospital laundry. He added that the District Administration has engaged three caterers for providing wholesome meals to the inmates of AQ centres .  The DDC said that Udhampur administration also started the paid quarantine facility from the very beginning. The Secretary directed to maintain proper cleanliness and hygiene in the quarantine centres.    She asked the concerned Nodal officers to maintain the list of quarantine people and ensure best facilities for children and pregnant women.Later, Commissioner Secretary visited quarantine centres at GDC Women and GDC Boys   and inspected the facilities made available in these centres. She also interacted with the quarantined persons and enquired about their well-being and facilities being provided to them.  Among others present were Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nagendra Singh Jamwal; DFO Udhampur Shavaita Jandial; Nodal Officers quarantine centres Ranjeet Singh and Subash Dogra and other officers of various departments.
