BANDIPORA, JUNE 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Friday distributed sports kits among various Sports Clubs and associations in the district on the directions of Director General Youth Services and Sports, Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman.
Vice-Chairperson District Development Council Bandipora, Kounser Shafeeq, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Gh Qadir Bhat, Raja Saleem, President Cricket Association Bandipora, In-charge Activities Bandipora Khursheed Shaheen and other officials were present on the occasion.
The officers handed over sports kits including six rollers and 4 pitch mats among the sportspersons and clubs besides other sports items.
One Roller and One Pitch Mat each was provided to Sultan-ul-Arifeen Sports Stadium Lankerpora Gundpora Rampora, Adnan Sports Park Watpora, HSS Nadihal and Gurez while one Roller was provided each to Tulail Tehsil and Sumbal Wangipora.
While interacting with the representatives of various sports clubs and associations, the DC said that the district administration is keen to develop sports infrastructure in the district.
He said under different schemes, not only the play fields are being developed in every village but sports items are also distributed among the sports clubs of different villages besides numerous tournaments are organised under Khelo India.
