Forest department joins Indian Reserve Police to celebrate World Environment Day

Forest Department Doda in collaboration with IRP 5th battalion Doda celebrated World Environment Day at IRP headquarters Beoli Doda.On the occasion the saplings of Deodar and other environment enriching species were planted.Sh.Satpaul Pakhroo,IFS Conservator of Forests the chief guest on the occasion briefed about the importance of planting trees especially when the world is facing acute shortage of oxygen in the grim time of Covid pandemic.He emphasized that nature gives oxygen for free when people are paying hefty to buy oxygen cylinders.Planting trees are not important rather indepensible, he added.He also briefed the media persons at the sidelines of the function.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the theme for World ‘Environment Day 2021 is Ecosystem Restoration’.
The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were:- DFO Doda Navneet Singh,IFS,Commandant 5th Bn Sanjeev Khajuria ,Dy CO RS Rathi and RO Siraj Adil Shan.
