DC Srinagar inaugurates Mega Vaccination Mela at Panthachowk, Batamaloo, Pratap Park

Urges left out population of Srinagar to take Covid-19 jab to defeat Covid pandemic

SRINAGAR, JUNE 14: In order to improve vaccination coverage and to sensitize people about importance of anti Covid-19 vaccination, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammed Aijaz Asad on Monday inaugurated Vaccination Melas  at different locations in Srinagar including Panthachowk, Pratap Park and Batamaloo.

On the occasion, the DC inspected the vaccination procces himself and monitored the  vaccination inoculation campaign.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Srinagar, Khurshid Ahmad,  SDM East, senior Health functionaries, concerned Tehsildars and other officers accompanied the DC during the visit.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the basic purpose of organizing such vaccination melas is to further speed up the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination procces in  Srinagar and to make people aware about the significance of inoculating anti Covid-19 vaccine.

He said facilities have been made available at the nearest possible locations for public. He said these locations have been  chosen on the demand of local Trade bodies and other stakeholders as people including Traders, Transporters, Shopkeepers, Street vendors travelers etc visit these areas in large numbers.

The DC said beneficiaries are being inoculated Covid vaccine during different time slots in consultation with local Trade bodies and other Stakeholders to ensure strict adherence to the Covid-19 SOPs.

The DC also interacted with the Medical staff and beneficiaries  and said not Vaccine but Vaccination is the magic bullet to get protected from Covid-19 infection. He said we can defeat Covid pandemic only by Vaccination and strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.

The DC reiterated his appeal to the left out population of Srinagar district to visit nearest vaccination center to get vaccinated at an earliest to protect themselves, their family and whole society from Infection of deadly coronavirus.
