Vaccination is the prime focus of district administration, more than 72% of the population above 45 already vaccinated, 18-44 age group including high risk section being vaccinated on war footing at 9 sites

Doda,June 18:
Vaccination is the prime focus of District Administration Doda to address the longterm effects of Covid-19, besides religious heads have come forward in support of administration to achieve cent percent saturation especially in the age group of above 45 and high risk section category, stated by Deputy Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma during media briefing.

The DC informed that more than 72% of the population above 45 have been vaccinated, besides at 09 vaccination sites the vaccination drive for the age group of 18-44 including high risk section i.e shopkeepers, barbers, journalists etc is ongoing at mission mode.

With regard to Covid positive cases the DC informed that in the start of this month the positivity rate was 7.7 percent which has now diped to 3.3% with only 804 active cases in the district.

Regarding Oxygen availability the DC informed that addition to the existing infrastructure additional 750 LPM OGP is likely to be commissioned today, adding to this civil work on OGP at Gandoh has started, besides said that 63 oxygen concentrators have been placed at newly created CC Centres.

Further speaking the DC apprised that Hon’ble Union MOS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh also gave 22 oxygen concentrator in addition to the other supplies to the district administration which have been put into use, besides said that NGOs are also coming forward to support of district administration in it’s fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

The DC informed that various measures are being taken into account to adress the congestion in the public places post unlock, besides aggressive awareness campaign is also ongoing with other stakeholders with regard to Covid vaccination and implementation of SOPs across the district.
