The price of petrol has crossed a whopping 100 rupee mark in Kashmir on Saturday, marking the first time that its cost has touched a record three-figure.

The petrol price was fixed at 100.66 rupees, which makes it the costliest so far.

A local told The Kashmir Walla, “I used to get my bike’s tank filled for 500 rupees and it would last for at least 20 days.”
He added: “Now, we have to fill the tanks [with petrol] every other day. And I don’t understand why the price is so high here.”

The price of petrol has registered a steady increase in the region over the last few years. It had remained above 90 rupees since the beginning of this year.
