ISLAMABAD, June 23: At least seven people were injured when a blast went off inside a residential area in Lahore, the capital city of Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province Wednesday, local media reported.

The nature of the blast has not been determined yet, and a bomb disposal squad and teams for gas pipeline providers rushed to the site to investigate the cause of the explosion.

Three cars and two nearby houses were damaged in the blast which caused acute panic in the residents.

A fire erupted at the site following the explosion and firefighters were trying to douse it, the reports added.—(Xinhua)
