Overall Positivity rate declines to below 1 % in district: DC Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, JULY 07: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today informed that the overall positivity has witnessed a massive decline in the district and at present the positivity rate is just 0.79 percent.

The DC said this during a routine press briefing to present an overall situation of the Covid-19 in the district, besides the covid containment and mitigation measures employed so far in the district.

while sharing comparative figures, the DC said that this week about 13000 tests are done and overall positivity rate has come down to 0.79 % which was 1.5 % in last week. She further said that last week 7000 tests were done at Covid Care Centres and only 11 persons were tested positive who were send to home isolation and all of them are stable.

Regarding active positive cases, the DC said that currently 176 cases are active in the district. 41 containment zones are still notified in the district and 59 % active case are from these zones, she added.

She said that positive indicators with regard to pandemic are improving every passing day which is an encouraging moment for all and to further improve our positive indicators, she again appealed to the people of the district to continue following Covid appropriate behavior besides wear face masks, avoid unnecessary gathering in markets and other public places.

While elaborating on the ongoing vaccination drive for 18-44 years, the DC complemented the medical teams associated with vaccination for
carrying educative and positive campaign in last few days for clearing doubts among masses regarding the vaccine.

She again appealed to the people to visit your nearest Vaccination Centre and get vaccinated in the shortest possible time which is the only defensive mechanism against the deadly Corona virus.
