July 08 (jkns): Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Anantnag Police have arrested one more drug peddler in Sangam Bijbehara and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A Police party from Police Post Sangam established a checkpoint at Sangam Chowk, intercepted a person roaming in suspicious condition who was tactfully arrested by the alert police party. During checking, officers were able to recover 12 Codeine phosphate bottles and 10 grams Heroin from his possession. He has been identified as Tawseef Ahmad Parray S/o Gh Hassan Parray R/o Pujteng Bijbehara. Accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where he will remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 202/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Bijbehara and further investigation set into motion. (Jkns)
