‘All public parks to remain closed for two days on July 21 and 22’

Bandipora, Jul 19: In view of the containment Covid-19, the authorities in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district Monday appealed to the people to offer Eid-ul-Adha prayers before 70:30 am only.

An official told the news agency that the administration has decided and appealed to the people to offer the Eid prayers before 07:30 am only and there will no Eid congregational prayers in any Eidgah across the district.

He said that no congregational prayers shall be held in Eidgahs and instead prayers shall be held at local mosques with strict Covid-19 guidelines including social distancing.

Meanwhile, the district authorities have also ordered the closure of all public parks
including Athwatoo tourist resort, Watlab cafeteria, Nishat park and Wular vintage for two days on July 21 and 22 in view of the containment of Covid-19

Meanwhile, deputy commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad said that strict orders have been issued so that no one should be allowed to violate SOPs related to COVID-19 because of anticipated consumer rush in the markets, and anyone found in such involvement will be dealt with strictly as per the law.

He reiterated that the religious leaders, Imams, Khateebs and Management Committees of Masjids have a key role in sensitising people and bring a behavioural change among them.

He also appealed to religious leaders to use their influence to ensure every person follows Covid appropriate behaviour in and outside the mosques.
