No beneficiary to be left behind during SEHAT health card enrollment drive: DC B’pora

52 CSCs functional across the district; 1.63 lac individuals registered so far

BANDIPORA, JULY 20: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad, on Tuesday chaired a meeting along with CEO State Health Agency Dr Sagar Doifode, to review the implementation of Government’s flagship Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan ArogyaYojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme in the district.

The meeting was informed that 52 CSCs are functional across the district wherein people register themselves for availing benefits under the scheme and that so far 1.63 lac individuals have been registered from 40479 households of the district.

On the occasion, the DC called for increasing the registration facilities apart from already existing 52 CSCs centres with special counters established in various blocks of the district.

He directed to launch a mass awareness campaign to create awareness among people for cent percent coverage under the scheme. He also directed CMO Bandipora to mobilize field level workers including Asha workers, VLWs etc  to create awareness among masses so that they register themselves for the scheme.

Dr Owais asked the officers of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs to provide attested copies of ration tickets to genuine and bonafide rationees for use as documentary proof; sensitize consumers about the scheme.

The flagship scheme which stands for Social, Endeavour for Health and Telemedicine provides a health-cover of 5 lakh rupees per family per year. It allows portability of benefits across the country and has no cap on family size and involves free and cashless treatment in empanelled hospital located across the country.

Any citizen can apply for the scheme which is linked to more than 23,000 public and private hospitals across India apart from those in J&K

On the occasion, Dr Owais also directed CSCs to fix day wise targets for each centre to ensure speedy registration and asked them to report daily about the registrations.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr Bashir Ahmad, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, District Health Officer Dr Bashir Ahmad Teli, Medical Superintendent Dr Mushtaq Ahmad, Block Medical Officer Bandipora and Hajin Dr Massarat Iqal and Assistant Manager Bajaaj Allianz Kashmir Division Rajeshi Chakarvorthy.
