VICTORY FLAME AT ZOJI LA : SWARNIM VIJAY VARSH

Srinagar, 20 Jul 2021. As part of Nationwide commemoration of the Golden Victory of
Indian Armed Forces in the Bangladesh war of 1971, the Victory Flame reached the
Union Territory of Ladakh through the historic Zoji La pass from the Kashmir Valley on
20 July and was received by the soldiers of Fire and Fury Corps.

In a solemn wreath laying ceremony the flame was placed at the Zoji La War
Memorial and wreath laid by Fire and Fury Corps. The Victory Flame shall tour Western
Ladakh before being placed at the Kargil War Memorial on 26 July (22 nd Kargil Vijay
Diwas) and will further move to Leh. The event aims to Remember the martyrs, Rejoice
the Victory and Renew the pledge for the future commitments.
