COVID-19: DC Budgam chairs meeting of Nodal officers

BUDGAM, JUNE 05: Deputy Commissioner, Budgam Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza today chaired a meeting of Nodal officers for COVID-19 to review status of arrangements put in place to tackle the pandemic.

The meeting discussed the issues pertaining to COVID-19 ranging from sample collection, testing, SOP for home quarantine, facilities at administrative quarantine, status of Red Zone areas and contact tracing in order to control COVID-19 pandemic proactively in the district.

The DC said that a dedicated COVID-19 Control Cell has been constituted and all Nodal officers are instructed to remain in touch, coordinate with the cell and get direction or clarification if any, from the cell and further, the Control Cell shall receive feedback from all the nodal officers from time to time.

The CMO, Budgam apprised the meeting that 350 samples on an average are collected from all 10 blocks and sent for COVID-19 testing.

In this regard, DC instructed that priority sampling must be followed and cases like old aged, ILI, NCD, Pregnant women, service providers, frontline workers, staff deputed in red zones and quarantine centers shall be considered first for COVID-19 sample collection and testing.

He directed that all the nodal officers designated for red zones with the assistance of district administration shall ensure complete lockdown is enforced in red zones.

The DC exhorted upon nodal officers designated for home quarantine that they shall necessarily put stamp upon person sent to home quarantine, proper SOP must be followed with continuous surveillance by teams and no complacency in this regard shall be tolerated.

Similarly nodal officers designated for administrative quarantine were also directed to ensure sufficient staff is available and regular sanitization, fumigation of centers is carried out besides inmates in these centers are supplied with good quality of foodstuff and potable drinking water.

The DC said that maintaining coordination is a pre-requisite to control COVID-19 crisis effectively and accordingly district administration shall work as team in fighting war against COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting among others was attended by ADC Budgam, Dr.Nasir Ahmad, GM DIC, Budgam, Dr. Mohammad Ashraf, all SDMs, ACR, CMO, DFO, DIO, Nodal officers besides other concerned officials.
