Overall Covid recovery rate increases, positivity decreases in district: DC Gbl

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 09: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today said that overall Covid recovery rate has substantially increased in the district while positivity rate has also shown a subsequent decline.

The DC said this during a routine press briefing to present an overall situation of the Covid-19 in the district, besides the Covid containment and mitigation measures employed so far in the district.

 While giving details, the DC said that during the last week the Covid testing was done vigorously and accordingly the number of positive cases has increased adding that the positive cases were generally found during contact tracing.

 She appealed covid positive persons to isolate themselves and take precautions which are extremely important to save their relatives and others from infection and urged them to immediately contact the nearest medical practitioner and take medical advice for their safety.

 Regarding easing restrictions in Sonamarg and Manasbal tourist destinations, the DC said that  in last week the weekend restrictions were eased and it was observed that people visiting to these destinations were found following Covid protocols which is an appreciable sign.

She further said that in this week both the tourist destinations shall remain open for the general public on weekends and appealed to the people to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour and other basic protocols like wearing mask and maintaining social distancing while visiting these tourist destinations.
