Swarnim Vijay Varsh Kashmir Premier League 2021 was conducted from 01 Jul to 28
Aug 2021 as an initiative of the Indian Army to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of
the victory of 1971 Indo-Pak War and to engage the talented youth through the
medium of cricket tournament (grass root connect) in Kashmir Valley.
Conceived as a wide-reaching multi- phased T-20 cricketing tournament engaging 10
districts of Kashmir & attracting nearly 3000 youth & 200 local Kashmiri teams & cricket
clubs in its fold.
Right from its onset Kashmir Premier League has given an insight into the
extraordinary cricketing talent & exceptional skillset of the youth of Kashmir. Matches
in all phases have been fiercely fought & some cricketers have carved a niche for
themselves with their outstanding performance in every game, taking away the welldeserved title of Man of the Match.
This serves as a major accomplishment for KPL 2021; identifying young & promising
cricket talent among the youth of Kashmir. Such players are popular & celebrated not
only at their respective Districts but have constantly topped the leader board of
Kashmir Premier League 2021 monitored through the CricHeroes App employed for
an objective assessment & ranking of the players at the tournament.
The profile of some of these exceptional batsmen, bowlers & MVPs who have been
identified as promising future players & local heroes is as follows:
ISHTIYAK RASOOL
A promising player from Mattan in South Kasmir, Ishtiyak played for Anantnag
Achievers in KPL 2021. ISHNAG as he’s popularly known; has distinguished himself
as the most valuable player by steadily staying on top of the Batsman Leader Board
of KPL 2021. Turned pro in 2010, IshNag has set high ambitions. A self-coached
cricketer, Ishtiyak is genetically gifted in this sport owing to his cricketing lineage.
Having had the experience of playing three T-20’s in Syed Mushtaq Ali Cricket
tournament, he holds the distinction of having scored 239 runs in a T-20 tournament
to his credit. He has been identified as the Most Valuable Player of Swarnim Vijay
Varsh Kashmir Premier League with a 23.864 rating, running for the coveted Man of
the Tournament for KPL 2021.
ADIL KACHROO
An unassuming demeanour with a skilful & dexterous knack for the game, Adil
Kachroo’s name has been reflected as the top Batsman of Kashmir Premier League
2021 uninterrupted. Representing Shahi Shopian in the League, he can be duly
credited for setting a record of 159 runs with a strike rate of 165.63 & highest score of
60. The outstanding statistics of the player makes him a batsman worth his salt who
is in the lead for “Orange Cap”: player with max runs at KPL 2021.
SUHAIL WANI
This Right arm medium styled bowler playing for Shahi Shopian at Kashmir Premier
League 2021 has stood out as the most sought-after bowler in the Tournament, having
set the unbeaten record of taking the highest number of wickets & securing the lowest
economy of 3.31. Wani is leading the race for “Purple cap”, prize for demolishing the
aspirations of his opponent with his pace attack, taking a massive 12 wickets in mere
04 innings.
