At the heart of humanitarian action are the doctors, nurses, paramedics and other health workers who selflessly serve their communities.
Today on the occassion of “World Humanitarian Day” In consonance with the Army’s constant pursuit to win the hearts and minds of people, Army Camp Gujjarpatti organised a Khairiyat Patrol in Chandigam village of Lolab. The aim of khairiyat patrol is to provide free primary medical assistance to Awam, ensure they are safe and secure from diseases and also address to their issues pertaining to COVID 19, so that there is no space left for the emergence of third wave.
Around 30 Surgical masks were distributed to the women students in Vocational training institute, Chandigam for their safety and to bring awareness amongst them as well as locals.
Following Khairiyat patrol, the very same day at around 1400 hrs a 27 yr old civilian Md Rahman Najar s/o Kahzar Md Najar a resident of Chandigam, while working sustained deep Lacerated injury by a sharp piece of wood over the right foot came to TOB Chandigam for the treatment. Regimental Medical Officer, Army Camp Gujjarpatti alongwith Nursing Assistant immediately treated him by first cleaning his wound, applied 4 stitches and prescribed necessary medicines to the individual.
This gesture from the Army will further bridge the gap between Fauj & Awam. The efforts of Indian army on account of humanitarian assistance have been well appreciated by the locals as the first responders in times of need.
