District Police Ganderbal in its concerted efforts to eradicate menace of drugs from the society, made a breakthrough in tackling drug peddlers.
A naka was established by Police Party from Police Station Kangan led by SHO Police Station Kangan Inspector Turk Zahoor under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Shri Yasir Qadri-JKPS at Kachnambal, Chattergul Kangan. During naka checking a suspicious person tried to flee away but was intercepted immediately by the Naka personnel and subjected to frisking during which a consignment of 250 grams of charas was recovered from his possession. The said consignment was seized and accused identified as Sharaf Din Chechi S/o Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Chechi R/o Chattergul bala who was apprehended on spot and booked in case FIR No. 94/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act registered in P/S Kangan.
Locals of the area have hailed this action of Ganderbal Police and expecting that this type of action against drug menace shall continue in the future also.
District Police Ganderbal appealed general public to inform Police in case of having any information of Drug peddling so that the menace of Drug abuse could be eradicated from the society.
