ADC appeals people of Kupwara to follow Covid-19 SOPs strictly

KUPWARA, AUGUST 23: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Nazir Ahmad Mir today appealed to the people of Kupwara district to follow the Covid-19 SOPs in letter and spirit so as to make the district free from the pandemic.

He was addressing a presser in the meeting hall of the D.C Office here, today.

Giving details, the ADC said that there are 46 active cases in the district, of which 41 are in home isolation and 5 are under hospital isolation. He said recovery rate stands at 98.5 percent which is satisfactory adding that the weekly positivity rate has slightly gone up from 0.37 percent to 0.5 percent.

Regarding vaccination, the ADC said that 100 percent vaccination of the above 45 year population has already been achieved and 43 percent of the population of below 45 year has also been vaccinated so far in the district.

The ADC urged the youth below 45 year age to come forward and vaccinate themselves at the nearest vaccination centre for their safety against the Covid. He appealed to the people of Kupwara district to follow all Covid-19 SOPs in letter and spirit by usage of masks, hand hygiene and maintaining social distance so as to keep the district free from the pandemic.
