Srinagar, Aug 29: The Jammu and Kashmir police have started a probe into the “mysterious” death of a pregnant woman in Check Chandegeer village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Family members told news agency Kashmir that the woman namely Marifa, wife of Muhammad Shaban Dar, was nine months pregnant, died along with her child after allegedly injected a pain killer by an ASHA worker after she complained of pain on Saturday.
However, she was shifted to CHC Hajin today morning where doctors declared her brought dead on arrival, they said.
An official told that the Police has started a probe under section 174 CRPC into the incident.
