National Teachers’ Day celebrated at Anantnag

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 05: The National Teachers Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour today, here.

In this connection, the main function was held at Govt Higher Secondary School Ranibagh which was presided over by District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla as Chief Guest. Joint Director Education South, Chief Education Officer, District Education Planning Officer, Principal HSS Ranibagh, Cultural Coordinator Education Department besides other officials and students also attended the function.

On the occasion, the role played by the teachers in transforming the students and society as a whole was highlighted in detail.

Teachers from various schools of the district were felicitated with awards for their commendable work.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC paid rich tributes to his teachers and remembered their contribution in shaping up his career. He said that soon the Back to School programme will be launched in the district to bring school dropouts//leftovers  to classrooms.

Dr. Singla stressed upon the teachers to be the role models for their students and pay due attention to the students who are weak in learning. He called for strengthening the student teacher relation especially in light of evolving trends in the teaching profession. .

The DDC said that smooth  adoption and implementation of New Education Policy and new ideas in teaching methodology are vital for transforming the education sector.
