Delhi woke up to heavy rainfall on Saturday morning, leading to waterlogged streets and even a flooded airport. The rains brought life to a standstill for many citizens of the national capital, while a few sailed happily along.
A BJP leader ‘rafted’ across waterlogged streets and farmers continued their protest sitting in a pool of water at the Delhi border — clearly, the day was not short of iconic images and videos!
According to the Safdarjung observatory, Delhi recorded 94.7 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am on Friday and 8.30 am on Saturday. The Indian Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for the city and rains are expected in the evening as well.
